What tank size do each of you guys have your peacock bass in?

What tankmates have you had with them successfully?

What tankmates didn't work out and why?

This is research. Directly contacting other keepers is just about the best way to do research. Articles and write ups are too vague. I want anyone reading this thread to answer these quick questions:

What size tank are your pbass in?
What tankmates?
What tankmates were tried and didn't work? Why not?

I have a 150 and I want to go with big fish again. I know pbass can't stay in there permanently but I manage the freshwater department at the LFS I work at and I can bring them in to sell when they get bigger. I would love ot have jaguar cichlids again. I would also like a large catfish. The ones I really like are too agressive (Hemibagrus spp.), but I was thinking about growing out something like a tiger shovelnose or a SA redtail.

What do you guys think?

What size tank are your pbass in? 6x3x2.5' 340gal
What tankmates? Silver Aro, Jaguar Cichlid, Ornate Bichir
What tankmates were tried and didn't work? Why not? Anything smaller then the Cichla cause they got eaten.

You're going to get some answers but most people are going to tell you to use the search function. That's what it's for. It's hard for everyone to just list every tankmate they've tried. Just answering the 3 questions you asked isn't going to get you very far. I could tell you I have 5 12" bass in a 75...is that going to help you? If I don't explain, it's going to confuse you more and you're going to get bad advice.

As to your more specific questions in your third post, SA redtails are pretty aggressive and may not work, but depends on the fish. TSN are fine tankmates for p-bass as well as L. pictus, L. marmoratus, juruense, tig, etc. Jags should be fine, I just wouldn't necessarily keep one that's bigger than the Cichla.

4x2x2.
lots of things.
dorado,wolffish,bichirs,barramundis,other cichla,tarpon,payara,various arowanas,pike characins,geophagus,the list goes on.
anything that could eat the cichla or could be eaten didnt work.
