Tank size for a festae pair

is a 6x1.5' 125 gallon adequate, or do they need a 180?

All depends on the size of the pair and how aggresive they are towards each other. A 125g should be enough. I assume it is a 72"x 18" footprint. Just keep a divider handy.

I would think it would be alright, but like crisper said keep a divider handy. You could try dither but does not always help because the will off single out there own species.

Like said, It should be fine,just have the divider handy.Mine started out in a 135 community and are in there own 75 now.They are f 8 & m 12".
