Tank size for a pair?

I know the bigger the tank is better for any species of fish, but I was wondering how small of a tank I could put a breeding pair of motoros in? I have heard of a guy using a 75 gallon and just wondering if that was really realistic. Thanks.

mmm 6x2x2 min tank size 7x3x2 would be better

if you built a 8x4x2 pond that would be ideal a 7 or 8x3x2 would be the minimum though as motoro get 24"+

What about one of those big plastic kiddie pools or is that not deep enough.

you can get deep ones at walmart that are like 30" deep for cheap

for a breeding pair i have seen motoro breed as small as 13inch so a 6x2x2 would be fine

but big adults you will need a much bigger tank

Are those plastic ones or inflatables?

Hum...I have a bunch of thick roofing rubber that I could use as a liner. I'm pretty sure it would be fish safe. The problem is convincing my father to let me build a pond in the house...It would probably have to be out in the garage and the heaters would be running nonstop in the winter... Maybe I should just wait 3 years until I am out of college and have my own place...It is hard to pass up a breeding pair at $300 though....

well how big is breeding pair??? you could build 6x3x30" rubber for roofs is safe its the glue that is not... but should be fine after awhile constant flushing with fresh water...
