How big would a dovii get in a 210 gallon?? It would be with other sa/ca cichlids. I just know that they grow pretty fast and a decent size tank is needed for them.

240 BARE minimum. An 8'x3' footprint or larger is really the minimum I'd keep them in long term. Smaller than 8x3, and they look pretty cramped.

Tank size has nothing to do with how big it will get, if it is healthy, it will grow to full potential, and I agree with Seedubs, a 240 is a minimally proper tank for dovii. Any smaller than that, and it would be like you being in a jail cell.
If you go smaller, and have tank mates, their days will be numbered.

Thanks for the info, I just checked on glasscages.com they have a 240 gallon for cheap. So thats what I will go with.

I bred my Dovii's in a 40g breeder. My male was about 12" and female about 8"

I'm often amazed at the reproductive instinct of Central American cichlids. 40g vs 600g, I guess there's a big difference between what you can get away with and what is ideal...

*edit* not having a dig, obviously you're not suggesting a 40g is anywhere near adequate for a dovii.

to answer the original question of how big will a dovii get in a 210g? Bigger than it would get in a 40g, and not as big as it would get in a 600g+ ;)

Its what you have available...

IMO not having a suitable size tank to house your fish "available" is no excuse for not adequately housing a fish, unless it's under exceptional circumstances. If you've got a foot-long pair of dovii in a 40g tank I'd certainly hope you're planning on having something much larger available for them in the near future.
