My 22" Marble lungfish is about to outgrow its tank (4ft x 1.5ft x 1.5ft). As a space constraint, I plan for a new tank and the size is 4ft x 3ft x 2ft(H), ~ 170 gallon.
This is my pet fish, hope this tank can last for few years. :)
Any comments/advice will be appreciated.

Is a 180 a possibility? Personally, I would go with a 180 over a 170 just to add the extra 2 feet in length...and you would still have 2 feet in width too.

3ft deep sure is nice.....it will provide a nice floor space....I think if you go 5 ft instead of 4 ft...you can house it for live.....but I do think the 4 ft will house it for a long while...maybe also for live depends on the final size.
Some P.A.C. end up at 75 / 80 cm max....

GriF, Thanks your advice. 5ft will be just perfect but 4ft is the maximum I can go due to floor space. May be 4ft x 4ft x 2ft(H) will be interesting.

To update, my custom made new tank (4' x 3' x 1.5' H) meant for MAL will be ready at my place tomorrow. :nilly::nilly:I'm so excited already.
I need you guys advice. Can I put him immediately to the new tank without any cycling (Normally take 10 - 14 days) ? Would the "New Tank Syndrome" be a problem as lungfish is so hardy, it can survive in any water condition.

I've never seen a tank cycle in 10-14 days without seeding it.If you have a tank up and running you can use media from it to seed the new tank and you'll be good to go immediately-Anne
gravel from an established works well too

That's great. Thanks for the advice.
The tank is in today and keeping busy, will update picture soon.:)

Just make sure you refresh alot of water the first months.
I think it will be fine. congrats on your new tank. can't wait to see the pix.
