What is the smallest tank I should keep a pair of Midas in?

Also, what do you think about me purchasing and growing out 5 or 6 midas in order to get a nice pair?

Its always a good idea to get more to find a pair. As for breeding tank size i would say 75-90 would be ok but bigger is always better. I'm guessing this will be the only fish in the tank

IF you're aiming for just a pair, and that's all you plan on keeping, I'd say 125-150 gallon.. You could even use the same tank as your grow out to get your pair(s).

If you want tank mates, I'd go larger.

i think it should be fine but alot of people will say bigger and theres nothing wrong with bigger but its not always an option for people

It might be.. Who knows..

But, they get to be about a foot long, and generally, you need enough room for females to escape males..... I always think you should go with the largest possible, since you never know what's going to happen...

90 for a pair.... I just wouldnt put a lot of decore in the tank just substraight and a couple slates...

I have to agree with that. forgot about the aggression of males during mating

I may look into a 120 then. Either that or start with a 75 and upgrade when needed. We are in an apartment right now, but will be moving to a house when our lease is up in February. I was originally going to get another 150g, but I really want a midas tank and a flowerhorn tank. So thought about two 75's.

Glass tanks are so much more expensive here in FL. I could buy them much cheaper from my LFS in Michigan.

yo muscle check out craigslist.com for your area in florida might find some good tanks and whatnots on there for cheap its where i got my 55 for like 60 dollars and it came with the stand and a whole lot of other goodies
