Sounds like a cool tank. Without a true total count of fish there is no way for anyone to accurately tell you the right size. So I will have to go with the general rule of, "the bigger the better".
Right off hand I'd say a 240 should work, but the 300 mentioned above doesn't sound bad either.

Since stocking compatibility is not the best, your going to need a very large tank, for it to even have hope it working. Stick with angels, discus, and rams; and you will need a much smaller tank.

Well, i already have the male and a female, but they don't like each other so jeff rapps said i should put some more females in to give him choices, also some other tankmates to distract him but i would need more than a 55. And, since hes the cichlid expert i thought i would go with it.
All i have room for i a 4' tank, so obviously thats not gonna work. Can you slide tanks across a room? If i slide my 4' 90 gallon to where i have room for one, i have room for a 10' tank 
But seriously i am limited by the following factors:

-my mom:4, maybe 6' tank
