i do not think that is correct. how are u figuring that? standard 180 is 6 ftx2ftx24 inches. so the tank im talking about is 8 inches shorter in lenghth but 3 inches taller in height. wouldnt it be around a 165 or so.
Adding 8" of length doesn't add as much as 3" of heighth on a tank with that much surface area. With length you add for each inch only 24x27x1, with every inch of heighth you add 64"x24"x1". So for every inch up, you need 2.37" of length.
no oddball was right. it worked out exactly the same for a tank that measures. 72 long 24 deep and 24 high as it does a tank that measures 64 long 24 deep and 27 high. same amount of gallons. my buddy picked it up and its custom built out of angle iron and we measured it and thought it was more like a 160 or so instead of a 180. must say we were kinda surprised that the 3 inches in height makes up for the 8 inches in lenght it was missin.
