tank size question

This question is for a friend of mine.

How large a tank does he need for 3 parrot fish. One is 4" another is 5" and the largest is 7". He has them in a 40 gallon and he wants your honest opinion. Thanks for the info guys and gals.

By parrot fish do you mean the blood parrot hybrid? I think something like a 55g would be good for three individuals. Personally, I wouldn't go less.

yes the blood parrot hybrid. how big do they get?

the 40 or a 55 is ok but it depends on how big they get, they could get anywhere from about 6" to about 12"

Comfy house for all 4 of them for life is a 55 gallon. 40 would be okay too if they get along. Is it a 40 gallon BREEDER also??

Expect them to average around 8"....and when they do get that large, their ball shape makes them seem even bigger!
