tank size

Personally I wouldn't do anything smaller then a 55g. More than just swimming space should be considered, larger water volume leads to more stability in water params. Tank should only be filled to within 5-6" of the top, so this equates to about 40g of water.

yeah thought so just worried about putting it in my 150 with a smaller oscar and florida gar.

how about the gar size? Id be worried about that, they can turn on the growth pretty quick too, and they can also eat some good sized prey- but if the gar is with a baby oscar and hasnt eaten it yet....
I personally like to keep baby aros in small tanks to help them find their food, but at 7", yours is already past that point, so the 25g is probably unnecessary
