just out of curiosity does height make any difference at all with a catfish tank I have been looking for a new setup and dint want to spend to much here's what I have so far
125gl wide= 72x24x17 $260

180gl = 72x24x25 $400

240gl =72x24x31 $575

the fish wont care about height. Most dont. The only differnce the height will make is that there will be more water volume. This means that the water quality will remain a little better for slightly longer periods of time. I would just go with the 125 wide. It is not only cheaper, but will be alot easier to clean, because it is shorter. In a 31" tank it will be a real pain in the @ss to move decorations on the bottom ect. I would spend the money you saved on a big refug/wet dry filter, so that you increase the volume of water in the system, and can separate any fish if there are aggression problem or something is in danger of being eaten.

I was looking at it more for price and if the fish would be happy one that size would cost about 4 times the amount of the 125 wide I'm not in a rush i guess i could wait and see if I could find a used one
