I've read conflicting articles, what size tank would be suitable for 3 atabapo I pikes? I may only keep 2 the 3rd is looking real skinny and I'm having a hard time getting him to eat. There is one that is waaay out shining the others and is my favorite. I have a open 40g breeder, how long could they live in it? I plan on moving them into a 150g when that tanks inhabitants grow out...about a year or so. I do 40% w/c on the 40g weekly.

I would say at least a six foot tank.

How fast do these guys grow? I would put them in my 265 community but they are too small and would get eaten or out competed for food. I have a scotti and 2 lents and these guys are much much more mellow than them, when can I expect them to come out of their shell?

hmm I'd be apprehensive to put any lents in my 240 with my 2 atabapo I's. I had to separate my male from the female. She would have killed him no doubt. They are about 7". 40 seems like its way too small especially for 3. maybe for two. Ideally you have 2 females. What are the sexes of your 3?

I don't really know. I can't tell. They are 6"+/- they all look identical they don't show any aggression at all they very seldom eat unless i feed live and I hate doing that even. I feed market shrimp and they eat it sometimes but reluctantly
