I have a little 6.5g tank that i bought used from some lady. I'm trying to breed guppies in it for feeders. iv lost my 2 male guppies and one of my prego females in the last week. I noticed today when I was pulling out the female that the tank smelt like mold. I used the substrate that came with the tank (white gravel) I washed the gravel and tank really well before setting it up . and I also used a new filter that I seeded on one of my other tanks. is my substrate maybe moldy? its like she just drained the tank and just left the substate, old filter and heater in place and put it in her garage for god knows how long. when I got it I litteraly could have just added water like her add stated lol.

empty the tank and clean it vinger and warm water. get rid of the old substrate and buy new one. and use a sponge filter.
