My new 55 gallon passed the leak test and I overlooked one part of this setup when I was impatiently rushing about to live my fish into a bigger aquarium. I took for granted that my stand was a 75 gallon and my new tank was a 55. I figured it'll support the weight just fine but I didn't think about the surface the tank wouldn't span across on the top. Now that I have all my fish, sand, decor, pumps etc all hooked up I realize there is a slight bow in the middle of the stand's top where I had a 36 gallon sitting for about 5 months.
I'm reading a lot of bad things that could come of this and UK also reading that just the 4 corners need the support and not the whole tank. Do I have to tear down the tank and put a piece of board or foam between the 2 or can I wedge something or will it be fine.? Grrrr... I hate myself and I'm sure my severum will too if I have to make him sit around in a bucket again.
