tank stock help!! wanna do SA if i can

well as of now i have 3 tanks stocked decently and doing just fine but i also have a 37(?) gallon (30"x13"x21") in the garage that just needs a filter and heater to start it cycling. I am thinking that in this tank I want to do a firemouth pair or maybe some other smaller sa pair but what i really wanna know is what can i put with these fish if i really want to be able to breed them but still have a "community" tank. really i dont want it to be to awefully stocked and i do have room to move some fish around if need be. But like i said i really want some more fish in the tank other than just the cichlids.

for example i was thinking something like start with say 6 baby firemouths and pick my pair and put like 6 or so tiger barbs with them?

you could do a dwarf pair and have a group of tetra.

make sure you understand that cycling doesn't begin until the first fish is added so start slow

yeah i know and i think im gonna start with my peacefully community species first. and when i do set up this tank im going to be using a filter from another tank that has plenty of bio on it already. so it should be alright. but i am definately gonna keep an extra attentive eye on the new tank and new fish..
