tank stocking help

hey guys


i am going to be reshaping and re stocking my fish tank soon

the dimensions are:
82x44x58cm

The tank holds 160L

I will be investing in a canister filter, and i am looking for a medium sized or small american to go in.
the cichlid must be tolerant of some tank mates, i am thinking about 5-8 platties in the tank with them with NO dramas.

what would be the best to go for?

I have rainbows, too, and find them boring.

Mine too, but they aren't half as interesting character and size wise than other cichlids IMO.
