hello everyone I have a 40 gallon with a 4 inch male painted turtle. It is full to about 35 gallons. I would like to stock some native fish with him. I live in Michigan and I will collect whatever o chose this spring. Any suggestions? I'm open to anything!

Risky putting anything with a turtle, he might end up chomping on them. I would go for some little minnows or something like that.
I have kept neon tetras with him and shrimp for months I have always had fish with him. I'm not that conserned if it is an issue I will
Minnows are always a good place to start when keeping natives. Check with your local DNR for what is native to your area, and what the laws are regarding collection for the home aquarium.
