Hello! So I might be moving across the country and I want to sell my current tanks and get one big tank. Something between 180-200 gallons. except I dont like the dimensions of the standard 180. So I was thinking of building a plywood tank with the dimensions 6ft x 3ft wide x 16" tall which comes out to 180 gallons. Would this tank be sufficient for a solo asian aro with one or two marble motoros?

Thanks!

Im gonna have to disagree with you The Masked Shadow The Masked Shadow , Definitely do the aro, at 3ft wide it gives him plenty of room to turn around. I would just make it taller than 16" though maybe shoot for around 20-24" tall give the top water dwellers their own space. But it's ultimately your choice I envy you for your location because you have the aro and channa as options

I would build it first, then ask stocking questions when I have a built tank that holds water.

Also, not sure where you'll be moving, but the cost of wood is through the roof right now. I can't imagine it being any cheaper internationally.

robmcd robmcd i won’t be moving for a year or so. I’m just getting a rough idea. Would a custom acrylic tank be cheaper? Or maybe a glass tank with euro bracing? I’m really just throwing around ideas nothing is set in stone.
