I recently purchased a 180 tank from a fellow who had never set it up (insurance replacement tank broken by his movers).
The tank has a plastic bottom trim that extends approx. 1" around the bottom perimeter, and sits on a metal stand that has no cross bracing or support under the floor of the tank, aside from the frame around the edges. My other tanks have not had bottom support, but this one is far larger.
Does this tank need plywood / styrofoam support? I'd like to put it under just for peace of mind. Any downside to this?
Thanks,
O
