Tank/System Update - Leopoldi

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Amazing rays agreed that that thousand island potting is fantastic! What is the growth rate like on your tarpon? I really like the looks of him in there!

Thanks. The tarpon has turned into a really amazing looking fish. He is over 3 years old and really thriving. Growth rate has been fairly slow but comes in spurts. When I moved him into his current tank last summer he was at least 13" and very strong/muscular. Now he is at least around the 16" mark or so, but much thicker and filled out. The p14 and cheerio leopoldi are both quite large and he makes them look small when he swoops down to grab some food.

A few years ago I had him with my first big GATF who decided to try an amputate the tarpons whole tail. A lot of TLC and isolation and he managed to make a full recovery. He is not the brightest fish but he fits with the arowana/rays well. I'll always have a soft spot for him after nursing him back to health and seeing him make such a great recovery.

Sorry for the late reply but thanks DIDYSIS, Kevin, and Jim for the kind words.

I'm gonna try and be on here more often now that works cooling down a bit. Hopefully... lol

Alls looking fantastic Reed!

Gorgeous rays Reed. Really like the thousand island spotted ray. Glad to see you update them and thanks!

They're looking good Reed, did you give up on the SLO's? How about an update on your other rays?

They all look great!
Thanks Trevor!

Very nice!
Thanks!

Thanks Don. Gonna try and be more active on here again now that it looks like they finally migrated the forums and they're running better.

Thanks a lot! Still have one SLO in place. The one female turned it into a game with the SLO laying on the tank floor. Soon as I put it back in place her #1 goal is to pry it out of the bulkhead haha.

Sure thing. I am in the process of moving some of the younger rays into the larger tanks. Once I finish the shuffle and everyone is behaving & settled in, I'll post some better updates of the whole gang.
