One hundred fifty gallon tank is 88 degrees. It was 94. I turned down the heaters to there lowest thermo. setting. Still 88 degrees. Checked the thermometer. It is correct with ones in other tanks. Lights are off. I have a Marineland c530 cannister filter. it feels cool. I Can't really turn it off for very long. House is pretty cold. I live in MI. This summer this could be a real problem.

If your house is in the 70's I'de just unplug the heater. you never said what brand wattage ect.. or what you where useing to take the temp with.. either could be giveing a false reading. also depending on your stock... keeping it cooler may be ideal. or keeping it that high may be just fine.

use a deskfan let it blow wind on to the water it could help i did the same and it works
