Hi there everyone.

I was wondering, is there a chart, or link to one that shows what a tank's temp. is, based upon it's size, and ambient room temperature??? (this is a tank WITHOUT a heater of course)

For example: If your tank is (55) gallons, and your ambient temp is (68) degrees, then your water temp is: (???)

IS there any kind of chart like this.? I know I can just measure the tank's temp. with a simple thermometer, but I didn't know if there were any simple charts that would show the same information in a chart formula. It sounds a little silly on the surface, I'll admit, but due to evaporation, and water movement, it's bound to be SLIGHTLY different, that JUST the ambient room temp.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. ALL THE BEST.

I think there are too many variables for such a chart to be useful. Filters, powerheads, aeration, lights, tops, canopy, air movement, tank position, tank proportions, stand construction and composition, etc. all can have an effect on tank temperature.

Exactly, it WILL be different due to so many different things that a chart wouldn't really be practical. For example, my 150, as long as it's not super cold around it stays at basically tropical temps just due to the return pump keeping the enclosed stand so warm inside without the need to run a heater most of the time. If there's good air movement across the top of a tank, it could be 10 degrees cooler than the ambient temperature due to evaporation
