cheapest would be buy the tank. if you build it you dont acually save any money enless you build about 200gal..

ya thats the conclusion i'm starting to draw.....but i think it would still be nicer to custom build a tank so it has perfect dimensions to house the fish i want.

So, lets say i get a del, a leopard cten, an african knife. what would be a tank size for this? 55 seems almost right but it could be a little small. 40 breeder is a little too short i'm thinking.

yea i agree with razman.. if you want cheap look for a used tank..the dimensions you mentiond earlier for the 110 gallons, i bought one used with everything for three hundred (tank, stand, lights, lids, sump, pump, bio balls, canopy and uv sterilizer)... But if youre lookin for a project and an accomplishment go for the diy. good luck and keep us posted.

nope, not an option. i live in Nebraska.

i put an ad out on craigslist to see if i can find any tanks.

i'm going to be looking for a small delhezi around here though, if i find one i can let him grow out in one of my tanks before i find a home for him.

wow, i think i just lost a $15 feeder fish.

i'm thinking since i'm trying to get my leaf fish onto prepared foods he just had to rebel and eat my small albino senegal......dang they were fine for a few weeks, guess i shouldn't have taken away his feeders while he was in there with such a small fish.
