As of now my silver aro is about 8 inches.... i got him about a month ago and hes in a 55 gal, now.... how long will that be sufficient? How fast will he grow? What should i keep him in later?

Another question, right now i feed him a little roasted chicken a week, some crickets, some guppies, and some earthworms. Does anyone have a diet of choice? How often i should feed him?

I don't know about feeding it roasted chicken. If it's cooked then it contains all that oil and stuff you use to cook it.
To save money, feed it pellets. They were made to be good for fish so you can't go wrong with them unless your aro is picky, which most silvers aren't.
Crickets are good, but they might get addicted to them and won't take anything after that. Just once in awhile feed crickets. Crickets are for some reason like crack to aro's.
Live fish is I guess pretty natural to what they eat, but the fish might contain diseases and stuff that can kill your aro.
Worms are fine.
You can feed it dried krill or frozen market shrimp (my black aro doesn't eat market shrimp for some reason, but most aros will)
I feed my aro's once every other day to slow their growth. My aro started at 3" and now it's 24" in 4 years.
You can feed it as many times as you want, but you gotta make sure it finishes the food or else your water will get dirty from all the uneaten stuff.
People normally feed their fish 2 times a day. It also depends how fast you want it to grow. If you heavily feed it 2 times a day, that 55 gallon is gonna be too small in a couple of months.

I think pellets are the best. Cheap and healthy.

That 55 will last him anothe 2-3 months. Expect about 1" per month. At that size market shrimp need to be cut down in size. I personally really like (and all my aros actually eat this) Azoo brand 9 in 1 arowana pellets. All four of mine won't take Hikari gold, or Hikari floating sticks. The sticks were too expensive anyway. The primary part of their diet is krill, 9in 1 and market shrimp.
