Tank transfer

I'm about to go pick up a new 75 gallon aquarium for my GT. Can I skip the cycling process if I fill it up partially with new water and the rest with water from the old 29 gallon? And also transfer the old filter onto it until the new filters get established? I'm too impatient to wait an entire month

I would move all the water from the 29g into the 75g. Then move your fish, add the new water to fill the 75g and add the filter from the 29g. The bioload will still be the same so your old filter will do fine on the 75g until a new filter gets established. I would wait a couple weeks before adding new fish to your new tank.
