Hi everyone!
So, last night I bought a new 75gal tank and stand. Got it unwrapped, and checked that the stand was level on my floor. It was solid, no wiggling/tipping. Put the tank on the stand, and the tank has a teeter tottering/rocking chair thing going on. Half the tank on the short end is not supported. I can easily fit my finger tip in between the tank and the supporting piece of wood where the short end of the tank should sit.
I am wondering if anyone would know whether its the tank bottom or the aquarium stand that's warped? I'm taking it back, just want to know which half of it should go back, or if I should take them both. Its an hour round trip drive, and I would prefer not to have to make a bunch of trips for this, but I don't want 75gals of water on my floor either.
Also, a second question...The stand is made by Marineland, its real wood, not fiberboard, and they used staples to put it together...Logic tells me that that is not a good way to support a tank, and the tank is only supported by the stand on the short ends, and about a 5'" piece on the long end in the middle where the trim sits. I may be overly paranoid, which I probably am lol just wondering if the stand is even usable, or if I am better off building a 2x4 stand.
Thank you all so much, I really appreciate any help/advice
