So for corys, idk maybe imma regret this but, I got 25 locally bred B grade, mite even say C grade Orange neon corys. The biggest of the group is 3.5 cm, so they still got alot to grow, iam hoping they get better coloraton as adults.

I was palning on getting 9 Checkerboard filimentosa cichalids. Maybe? I need some ideas on what to add, to bring some eye candy to the tank.

I wasnt aware corys were graded. Not that ive ever followed fish grading in general.

The cories health and color will be reflected in your care for them. Providing them diligent maintenance, a spacious tank, and a varied, healthy diet are more important than worrying about their supposed grade or rarity imo.

Checkerboard cichlids have always interested me, but ive never kept them. I think they would make charming tankmates with the orange laser cories.

Lol they aren't graded, its just that the broad doesn't sport many colors, and one of them is slightly short bodied, i didn't want anyone to get the idea that they are those good looking ones from google images. They are healthy for sure, not that problem, just dont seem to have much color potential, Do you know if cory catfish colors get better as they get bigger? Hope so, will post some pics soon.

If i can save up to $80 Canadian i can get 9 0.75 - 1inch Checkerboard cichlids, i mite but them in a breeder box/fry box if i get them.

Yes if they are only 1-1.5" like you say now they have yet to grow into their adult coloration. Water quality and nutrition will dictate their growth rate.

Do you have them in their own grow out tank? If you keep them separate from other fish in a 40 breeder or the like you can feed lots of nutritious food to them and really focus on water changes while they're in this critical growth stage. I'll bet you could double them in size in a couple months if you keep them on a diet of frozen brine shrimp and bloodworms and quality pellet.

unfortunately, I don't have any other tank up and running, I do have some pellets that have proven their great abilities to me, so i trust that by eating these pellets and freeze dried brine i can get them nice and fat, My hoplo has doubled or tripled in size, i hope that if he can do it, so can them, my tank has tannins, and undetectable. I guarantee therein good hands.

Hi so noww that you have a sense of my tank, I was thinking to add the final inhabitants to be: -5 Guinacara Geyia, 8 Checkerbored cichlids, and 10 Discus Tetras?
