Tank upgrade

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It'll work. The main concern is the thin vinyl liner, which can be easily punctured. I'd recommend lining it with 45 mil EDPM rubber liner, or, if indoors, 20 mil PVC liner. Do not use RPE (reinforced PE liner) indoors or above ground, even though it is 2x cheaper and 2x lighter. IME it doesn't hold water 100%.

So get the liner and put it inside of the pool? I think the redtails spikes might be able to puncture the pool.

It is always the danger but chances with the thicker rubber or PVC liner are better. Vinyl won't do for sure. RPE handles punctures even better, but it doesn't hold water IME. Perhaps they have fixed this problem now. IDK. I'd not want to be the guinea pig. I was once. That was enough.

Better safe than sorry, very true. Last thing i need is 600 gallons on the floor

A puncture won't cause that, just a slow leak or a pee leak at worst :) Whatever liner you choose, these are all quite repairable / patchable. The stumbling problem often is finding the puncture.
