does anyone know were to find empty weight of glass tanks?

I am looking to purchase a 195 5 wide which is 60 x 30 x 25

also for reference what does a standard 125 weigh?

thanks...

depends on how thick the glass is, not a standard footprint or size tank...

stand depends on supports and how it was built, and also type of wood, oak, etc

It can be calculated though. I would assume 1/2" thick glass, since tank is 25" high. Glass 1/2" thick weighs 6.7 pounds per square foot.

You have;
2x 60" x 25" panels = 3000 sq. in.
2x 29" x 25" panels = 1450 sq. in.
1x 59" x 29" panel = 1711 sq. in.

so 6161 sq. in. in just the glass panel alone divide by 144 and this gives you 42.78 sq. ft. multiply by 6.7 pounds and you'll get 287 pounds.

This could be more depending on manufacturer. Glasscages adds glass bracing at the top and bottom of the tank, which adds much more weight then typical plastic framing.

Also if the glass is only 3/8" thick you can recalculate at 5.1 pounds per square foot.
