ok a 90 gallon thats drilled with a 30 gallon sump. Its a SW tank so there will be like 80lbs of live rock as well. Its on a nice wood stand so the weight is spread out over the 4 feet. Can this tank pretty much go anywhere on a main floor???

Is 90 gallons really worth worrying about??? I just make sure that the floorboards are going perpendicular and I should be fine right??? maybe put it on a exterior wall so that way below it is a concrete slab???

not much to worry bout unless really old house like 1910

A termite infested old house and you put it on the top floor in the middle of the room.

should weigh roughly 900 lbs. I put a 120 in a relly old house where the floors shook with every step, it held. Just think can 4 or 5 people stand together in your house on you floor withouout falling through.

Estimate at 10lbs per gallon and you'll probably be close.

my 150 weighs about the same, no issues . the 400 had to go on concrete. do you have a carpet or hardwood ?

Funny...... Old houses were built with better wood than new houses (hardwood vs. pine). Also, the wood was more massive. For instance, a 2x4 actually used to be 2" by 4" long ago.

Water is 8 lbs. per gallon. 720 lbs. roughly. If your worried, do a tapping test and find which way your joists run and position evenly over the joists.

You should be fine, the rock will displace the water, so you won't really be adding much extra weight with the rock.

To be careful, I'd recommend cutting a 2x4 and keep it in the same spot on the floor. The board should be a very short distance away from the sealing. (less than 1 cm) If the floor touches the board, you have a major problem and will have to drain your tank.
