tank with just river rocks and sand

will a ornate bichir be alright in a setup with only sand and rocks but no hiding places? i want alot of swimming spaces because im going to add a pike, catfish, and one more *suggestions please* fish. theyre all gonna start out in a 30 but will be upgraded to a 150 plus tank. will the bichir do ok in such a open setup? thanks

It will live, but will most likely cower in the corner all the time. Ornates are definitely up there when it comes to reclusiveness.

How about adding one piece of driftwood that it could call "home"
