Would a 72x24x24 be a sufficient size for ONE or TWO PBASS for some years before I can get a larger tank? I would want either a Orino, Mono or Occel as they are the smallest. I might be getting a 60x48x18 (its a old coral tank from a pet store) how would that be?

Sorry I replied to you on the other thread.

That is an acceptable size for any pbass, except a temensis.

if you bought your pbass as small as possible you may get 2 years out of the 72x24x24, but they grow very fast. imo the second tank you mentioned would be a worse choice to house the cichla in, being that it is not very long and they are an active fish, and also not very high and 18" high just isn't big enough for larger pbass, but the width is awesome. i'd be looking for a 8'x36" for them soon after they outgrow the 1st tank. and if you wanted to keep the smallest pbass then you'd be looking at intermedia but 3" juvi's bring in 300-400 bones a peice. intermedia max out at 20"ish i believe.

They would last you about 2 yrs or so until you have to upgrade to a larger tank. Like XR said intermedia are the smallest, but are pretty expensive. But again they max out at around 18-20".

I cant spend 300-400 on a fish. Unless I sell my gulper but I like him way to much. So I think I will get 2 Mono's and grow them out for a year or two...If I have to I will give them to someone who lives near me.
