I have 3 giant snakehead at 14-16 inches in a 120 gallon tank (48x24x24) (1/4inch thick glass) I am so worried whenever they startle or get scared, they are like bumping the sides of the tank like they are going crazy..Will they eventually bust my tank? any experiences about tankbusters? help guys

I think that you answere your own question pare. You definitely need to get a bigger tank. If you have a big backyard why don't you build a pond. I know that you live in the P.I., you wouldn't have to worry about temps outside getting too low. Just have to worry about them getting out of the pond! If you lived closer to me I would let you use my spare 300g that I am not using at the moment.:D GL pare.

A polyethylene bin may be your answer. It'll give the fish a shock-proof larger area to live in and not break your bank. I have a 650gal with a 24" x 24" lexan window that I got for less than US$600 delivered (from aquaticeco.com)

Hey Oddball do you have a link to what you actually ordered from that website? Sounds like a good deal. Thanks. Sorry for derail.

I agree with Oddball, the stock tank would be the best idea and the cheapest. Now all you need to do is design a wet/dry for it and you are set.

So do you mean that my SH will surely break my tank one day?

Pretty sure. I had a redline that broke through the end of a 125gal while it was chasing after a perch print on my old boss' shirt. It was a metaframe slate-bottom tank back in '75 and, while I can't be certain, I think the glass was thicker than what's used on 125s today. My RL SH was a hair over 21" at the time. (OK, maybe it was a hair over 20")

So do you think leaving a single snakehead in the tank will reduce the risk of breaking the glass?is your Sh alone in the tank after it broke your tank?what part of the tank had broke?as u can see in the attached pic I have three of them and 2 tilapias
