Anyone else looking forward to watching the new series on animal planet called tanked. Looks like its gonna be a good show i cant wait to see the first episode aug 19th. The coming attractions look pretty funny

i'm looking forward to seeing it. from what i have seen and heard they only do saltwater tanks but still think it will be cool to see them doing these monster tanks

yeah it looks funny too. He throws his wife in with the black tip sharks and says heres the shark stick to keep them away. She starts freaking out and has no idea they just gave her a broom handle haha

Looks interesting but I'm too much of a critic to get excited yet. I'm looking forward to seeing new tank ideas, just nervous this is going to cause a surge in irresponsible people thinking a rare fish would be cool to keep in a one gallon show tank on their office desk - or something like that.
I got a bit sick looking at the "Are you aquarium ready?" section on the site - some good advice is there, but mingled with old outdated info and stuff that just isn't true at all. This quote just makes my day, "A typical tropical freshwater aquarium can safely support one inch of fish per gallon of water, although this will vary with the amount of water surface area (More surface area allows more oxygen, which supports more fish. Fish length is calculated at full-grown size, less the tail measurement.). Some fish are schooling fish, which by nature are more comfortable in bigger groups. Other fish may not like to be in an aquarium with any others of its own species. And, if they are territorial — as most marine fish and some freshwater fish can be — they will need more room in the aquarium than the average one-inch per gallon." Really people? How much research was put into that statement? Sorry for the vent - I hope the show focuses on cool aquariums and some tricky tech aspects that most people won't want to try to imitate.

I'm interested in it mearly for ideas... it looks like it's going to be abit to "drama" for me to really get into it. another "reality TV show" .. which is the last thing I want to watch on TV.

Agreed. It won't be as educational as River Monsters. It's reality. But I'll watch.

Just watched the APL link... "commercial" wanted to upchuck... re-thinking watching this... the fish are man-handled and put on parade.. the tanks appear over-stocked.. and they are doing/handleing dangerouse animals like it's no big deal... great thing NOT to let the kids of fish-tank owners watch from that clip.

yeah aug 19th will be judgement day, i feel like its gonna be almost like cake boss. Show you the clients and they come up with ideas for cool aquariums. but well see what ideas they come up with. their fish look like theyre in prime condition though

I think the show would be more interesting if they went and upgraded peoples aquariums into something amazing.....kinda like overhaulin but with fish and they don't steal your tank!!!!
