Just picked up a jag today for my 90 gallon............its only two inches right now so i can't tell sex.......what would be a good tankmate for it in a 90gal(if any at all) for life.......i'm just planning on keeping them in there ........thanks for the help...........

I'd keep it alone or get some dithers like giant danios or silver dollars. any other cichlids in that size tank will probably eventually be killed. :grinyes:

:iagree: It will probably be fine with several tankmates for now, but eventually will want the whole tank to its self. Thats not a bad thing though...Jags are awesome!

that's what i figured that it would be a single specimen tank but that's ok cuz jags are awsome.........thanks for the help...........

I have a 6 inch Jag,i keep a Red Hook Silver Dollar,a reg Dollar and a spotted dollar as well as a Pictus cat a Syndontis cat and a small Channel cat, there is some minor chasing once in awhile but nothing serious. Its all up to your Jag!!!

yea i figured i'd let it grow up for a bit then if i feel like still adding tankmates , see jsut how aggresive he turns out and just try but i dunno ......he'll just be by himself for now........

My 12" Jag is in a 90 gallon and I tried to put in some tinfoil barbs (~4 inch). He stressed them to the max and I had to take them out. Some spotted Rapheal Cats are doing great though. They hide all day under a big piece of driftwood. I would suggest keeping him alone but experiment with some armoured catfish of some sort. Good luck with your Jag!

yea i couldnt set up the 90 gallon right away because things changed around the house cuz we are rearranging everything so the jag is in my 30gal. cichlid growout .......hes in there with a striped raphael catfish, two convicts, and some kind of geo and they're all getting along great.........
