tankmate help =) and pics

Hey all!

ive had my new fish Jerome for a few days now,
i am told he is a Mayan but he dosnt really look like any on the internet.
hes currently kept on his own in a 4ftx15"x15" tank, and hes looking abit lonely.
i would eventualy be looking to keep some other species with him!
he is about 9.5"-10" and very active,
only problem is he wont feed just yet, but i put this down to him being new so i am allowing him time to settle in.

i am an experienced cichlid keeper for many years and have successfully bred and reared many species, just looking for some advice =) thankyou

oh i forgot to say, the previous owner had a heavily stocked aggresive tank and the fish got all ripped fins, which was partly why i got him for so cheap

i dont know. i got it from the lfs like that. he was cheaper.
what should i be looking to keep with him? atm hes on his own but he has alot of room and he seems bored. any tricks also on getting him to feed or will i just have to wait and try
