Hey, I'm getting a 180 gallon pretty soon here and I'm putting two Florida Gar in it to grow out. Just wondeting what you think would bee some good tank mates? I'm thinking bluegill, sunnies, stonecat maybe? Maybe redfin pickerals

Yeah, it should look really nice. Going to get easy yot grow plants, like elodea and whatnot. Large pieces od driftwood, sand substrate and some large/medium river rocks spread about the bottom. Just gotta figure out what to put with the gar. I dont want tropicals I would do tropicals if I have a Cuban Gar, but them being Florida gar makes me want to do Native fish with them.
Try bowfin or larger sunfish, such as bluegill. A gar will soon out grow the pickerel and will make short work of them considering they are of edible body shape: long and slender.
bowfin are illegal where he is (but then again so are florida gar), but doesnt make them impossible to get

Not sure if I'll be able to get a bowfin, But I'll try and find one.
If I cant get a bowfin, most likely will just get bluegill.
Oh, and about the turtle, the LFS told me it could live in that container its whole life, I dont know what your talking about.
