Tankmates for EBJD

I am getting a 40 gallon breeder tank set up tomorrow,using the water from the 125 gallon tank,so I wont have to cycle the new tank for a week.What kind of cichlids or community fishes can I put with my EBJD,since this tank will be much bigger then what I have the EBJD currently,which is a 10 gallon.The EBJD isn't very large atm,about 3 inches.

just so you know, unless you are using bio media from your established tank there will still be a cycling period, the actual water doesnt really contain that much BB, as for tankmates in that size tank i would stick with just high bodied tetras like serpaes or something
 
If you transfer substrate from the 125 to the 40 and replenish the substrate in the 125 you'll be in pretty good shape if filter media isn't an option. As for tank mates mine is fine with mollies and swordtails but eats smaller fish like lemon tetras.
 
Sorry I didn't mention I am taking my Marineland Penguin 350 filter to put on the 40 gallon,this EBJD is actually a bit aggressive,I have tried some other tank mates like a rubber lip pleco which that didn't work out too well,so I am not 100% sure if mollies or swordtails would work.
 
Mine isn't too bad, unless confronted enough then he just snaps.
 
Yeah that would work,something that will swim near the top haha.I am not sure yet,I will have to browse around and see how the EBJD reacts to others in the 40 gallon.
 
rainbows will work as well
