[h=1]Hello everyone :) Okay i will soon be getting a 330 Gallons Monster tank. The dimensions are 5 ft Long ,3 Ft wide and 3 Ft in height..The main fish in my tank will be Delhezi Bichir and a Black Ghost Knife fish. The other fish i've decided after research are Spotted African Leaf fish and the African Butterfly fish.My question is what more fish can i add with these 4?I want one or at least 2 medium sized colorful fish compatible with these 4.And the fish should be medium dwelling with ctenopoma.I thought of Oscars, but i already have them and they are messy eaters as well.I have a green Terror as well which is very aggressive. So these two are out of question.I would also cancel out Blood parrots(don't like them) and severums(have a separate tank for them) .So what fish can i put with these 4 in my 330 g?Will a indonesian Datnoid work?Or any other NON-Cichlid/cichlid you can think of?OTHER options i thought of are Electric Lab or Salvini ? Thanks in advance.Any species of mild or non aggressive colorful medium size fish compatible with the four will do.:D[/h]

Thanks for the replies.I was looking at some mid dwelling options.I had read somewhere here about going all african with the bio type. How about if i replace the BGK with African knife fish([h=3]Xenomystus nigri ) and add some congo tetras in there. So it would be like[/h]1 African Knife fish
1 Delhezi Bichir
8 Congo Tetras
1 Ctenopoma
1 African Butterfly Fish
I would still have options to add few more?what can i add with these in the 330 gallon?
i thought of an indonesian datnoid but surely it will eat the Congo tetras?ALSO it will be going against the african bio type.
So what african mid dwelling fish can i add with these?any non-aggressive african cichlid maybe?Electric yellow lab?
and will the congo tetras do ok with bichir and African knife fish?

I really can't imagine a Xenomystus nigri eating a congo tetra - you're talking about a relatively small knifefish and a relatively large tetra. If you ended up with a Papyrocrannus afer then that would probably be likely. The fish on your list that I would be more worried about (in terms of its predatory nature) is the delhezi.

I think that's a nice list of fish (similar to what I'm planning for my next tank) but I think the stocking is still quite light for a tank that size. Here are some thoughts sticking with the west/central african theme:

Ctenopoma will shoal in a large tank so one option is to get a larger group of them (maybe about 6 or so). There are also other ctenopoma species you could try like Ctenopoma kingsleyae or weeksi. You could also add additional lower jaw bichirs (e.g. senegals, ornatapinis) or a ropefish. There are a number of species of synodontis catfish that would work.

As far as cichlid options, you could consider kribs (Pelvachromis pulcher) or one of the other Pelvachromis species, a jewel cichlid like hemichromis lifalili (they're somewhat aggressive, particularly when breeding, but in a tank that size I don't think it should be too much of a problem), or a smaller tilapia species like tilapia joka.

i would put a red tailed prochilodus (flagtail) in there. But just one as they don't get on very well with their own kind.

I would stay away from the Salvini- It may beat up the Ghost Knife & Butterfly fish. Severums and Festivums may be good choices. I would also keep in Mind the African knives and Ghost knives can be shy eaters and if you put alot of active larger shoaling fish in the tanks the knives may have issues competing for food.

Thanks for all the replies. This is exactly why i started this thread,i got some very good options here. The ones i am considering are:
Red Tailed Prochilodus.Looks beautiful i need to check with my dealer for this species. After doing some research i found (at one place) that these fish like to sucked the slime coat off arowanas,Rays and more importantly bichirs !:irked: any info on this ?
Another option is Pelvicachromis.I think they would look awesome with leopard ctenopoma. How many of these cichlids can i add ?
Lastly i would like to add a rope fish.
How many of the above three species do i add with my already decided combination of

1 African Knife fish
1 Delhezi Bichir
8 Congo Tetras
1 Ctenopoma
1 African Butterfly Fish
Some info on Flagtail and its slime coat sucking habits as well. Thanks in advance !:)

I meant "like to suck he slime coat off".I don't know how to edit here.
Also will East African Electric Yellow Labs work out here?
