I had a turgidus puffer is a tank that is in a very prominent place. I decided to move the puffer to a more secluded tank.

That left me a 20 gallon tank open..it is a very long and wide tank made to fit within a cut out in my wall.

Well, I had always wanted some rams, and yesterday I sought out to find some.

I found two fish that I was sure were rams (the LFS was not sure)

Well, I get home to look up what I have. I have 1 German blue...and the second I am pretty sure is a Bolivian (it is missing an eye, which is throwing me off!) I cannot get pictures right now, but I am am 99% sure that I have a German blue and a Bolivian..at the store I thought they were the same, but now I can see different

Anyway, they are in the tank..seem to be enjoying themselves....BUT they came from a tank that had like 90 fish in it..

So, I am wondering if they should have some tank mates..I know I should have thought of that BEFORE I went after some rams...but I was so focused on finding rams that I just did not think about tankmates..

I do not want to overstock...so If two rams is plenty..let me know and I won't add anything (maybe plants or something LOL)

If I can have tankmates I am open to suggestions

-something small
-colorful, if possible
-won't eat my rams
-and will like a long 20 gallon with a sandy bottom (for life)

I have thought of cory cats and dwarf gouramis (I cannot spell that one, hopefully you understand what I am talking about)

Also, is there anyway to sex these fish?

Thanks a bunch!!!

FYI the rams were hard for me to find (I only found them because I am a little nutz:screwy:, so I cannot get more of these as tankmates)

How about 8 or so cardinal tetras?

Rummynose tetras are a good choice, too, because they can tolerate the warm temps that rams appreciate.

So I could do something small like cardinal tetras? I just want to make sure that I do not end up over stocking.....and I am reading conflicting info on the temperament of my rams...

These rams are in my warmest tank..so warm I keep a bubbler in to bring it down a degree or two LOL
