Tankmates for RD

Hey everyone im about to set up a 72'x24'x24' cichlid tank. I was just wondering what other fish make good tankmates for a Red Devil.

you could try a bunch aof different things. How big is the RD?

Around 3 -4 inches atm, i was thinking of getting a jardini to go with it

6 foot long tank is small for a full grown jardini. i would stick with cichlids if it was me. Try some vieja like argentea perhaps, should be sturdy enough to stand up to the RD.

I had to give my 7" RD his own tank because my salvini spent all day kicking his ass

I was just going to suggest salvini. Jack dempsey, jag, mota, texas, trimac and many others I've kept all of these with red devils before.

I've been able to keep a midas with african cichlids just fine. And I think that red devils are relatives to midas just smaller right?

Wait til the RD grows bigger and gets an attitude-then well see if your Salvini owns him. LOL!

I wouldn't try anything until you know how temperamental he is going to be. Mine is extremely aggressive and won't even let a Pleco in his tank. I've seen a lot of other owners on here say theirs aren't as aggressive so you might luck out and get one you can have tank mates with
