Hello, I have a 100 gallon tank with a 5 inch male red tiger motaguense alone, i was wondering if anyone could add any suggestions for tankmates? he hides all day so the tank is pretty empty looking lol

If it has already established the entire tank as its territory, it may be difficult to add anything else, especially any other cichlid.
If I were to try another cichlid, it would be one that looks entirely different, different mouth shape, different body shape, etc etc, because anything that looks any bit similar (predatory mouth, torpedo shape) would probably be seen as competition.
And most dither fish, would be thought of as dinner., unless much larger than a mouthful, and then compete for the limited space.
I have never been ablate keep any tank mates with motaguense in that size tank, except a compatible one of the opposite sex.

Thank you for the response, I might be forced to leave him alone then , because hes been with 2 females before and no luck so far

With mine, I started with about 5 or 6 females, and allowed him to choose (he killed all but 1, I consider that, normal collateral damage).
When providing only 1 or 2 at a time, the odds are not usually very high, that even one of those 2 will be suitable.

That would the ideal plan providing him with many females, only problem with living in canada though is the very limited fish selection lol red tigers are very hard to come by here, also most American fish stores charge a hefty fee to deliver here
