I just moved my uro into a 36x12x18...roughly 38 gallons i think. Hes about 5 inches and has been by himself up to this point. I was wondering what/if to put in with him. I was thinking pictus cats, clown loaches, silver dollars, buenos aires tetras, tiger barbs...etc. Just one group of those btw and taking adult size into consideration.
I talked to a guy at the lfs and he was saying aggression wise it should be fine, but i wanted some other input on the matter and other suggestions. Something doing some cleanup work would be great.
Thanks dudes.

Well Uro's are very very aggro in most cases. IMO they are rivaled to I say a Motaguense which are pretty damn aggressive. You shouldn't have tankmates as he would be moving soon any ways. He will be fine in the tank until 7 inches then he's gotta go to a larger home. If you do go with mates just go with the barbs as the pictus cats get a lil big and the loaches as well. SD's are also to big. That Uro is going to need at least a 55 gallon but more reasonable a 75 when adult. GL for the couple months he's in the tank.

You could maybe get away with a pleco for awhile, but the uro is still going to need a bigger tank. I agree with cross; a uro will eventually need a 75 gallon aquarium.

you could try convict cichlids, clown loaches would work and a pictus cat would alos work as most stay around 4-5inch. are you looking for a tankmate or a dither/target?
iam the only one who hasnt had a go about his tank size:)
seriously before all that you could just ask is that is a perminant home??? seems alot more polite to ask than assume he doesnt no and comment on somethink he didnt ask?

davidefc, thanks for the consideration as i am well aware of what keeping it entails. I think a tough 'bottom feeder' would work, but i think i'm gonna keep it solo for now...wouldnt want to ruin his puppy dog personality haha.

haha yh i understand the is alot of hard bottom feeders like dwarf-med sized plecos(L numbers), pictus's, clown loaches or/and other loaches and synodontis cats.(look them up and find there max size some of these guys get HUGE):)
