I am about to start cycling my 5 feet tank. Seen this beautiful specimen at the store and very much want to keep this gorgeous fish. What kind of FH this is and what grade approx?

I want to know that can I put any othdr fish with the flowerhorn in a 5 feet? If yes then what kind of fish? Blood parrots? Oscars? Any ideas? This fish was kept alone in about a feet of tank partition. He or she is not very big.

Nice Male ZZ red dragon
Best kept aline or a female to try and breed with a devider... not impossible to keep with others but depends on everyone's own personality

Thanks. I have seen in some cases they are kept with other fish like parrots mostly. In a 5 feet tank can I house this guy with blood parrots? I love parrot fish and if I can then how many parrots I can put with him.

Again it all depends on the flowerhorns personality... I had 2 flowerhorns that wouldnt harm anything... but some can be viscious... upto u to get the parrots and try it out... but dont be surprised if you need to rehome them

Ok. Thank you dear. I think its a good idea to get a FH which is already living in a community tank but I have usually seen juveniles in community tanks and adults are always alone in a single tank.

This is because most Flowerhorn get increasingly aggressive as they get older. You will see the best from your Flowerhorn, with less potential problems for them (and other fish), if you keep them solo.

My Kamfa resides in a 5' tank solo; this is a reasonably good size for an adult Flowerhorn, though of course 6' would be even better.

Agree with others... You can attempt tankmates, but if the flowerhorn grows large a 5' tank will start to look smaller and smaller, and the FH may not want to share it. Depends on the personality of the fish. I would say give it a shot, add 3 or so fish at once, not one or two, and keep a tank divider on hand in case it goes wrong.
