I have two questions:

1.) The black Poly I bought (from my other thread) is roughly the same size as my delhezi. I'd like to house them together when the quarantine period is over. However, I've noticed that the new Poly is extremely active, whereas my delhezi really isn't (unless there's food involved, hehe). Will the active behavior from the new Poly bother my delhezi if I house them together?

And if so, would an equal sized Sun Catfish be a better tankmate for my new Poly? It's very active and non-aggressive. (Sorry, I'm just running through my larger tanks seeing who can go with who or who needs to be moved where.)

2.) The tank the black Poly came from had a gravel substrate that was covered in some kind of algae/moss like plant (very stringy and bunchy). I don't know if it was intentional or because the tanks hadn't been cleaned recently and it allowed for plant growth. But either way, the Polypterus in the tank seemed to enjoy swimming in the plant. Can I try and recreate this for my Poly, perhaps with like Java Moss or Flame Moss? Or is it not recommended for them?

Thanks!

The activeness will not bother the del unless the tank is too small and the sen is crashing into the del.

I've never kept mos with bichirs, but I bet it would be fine.

Your senegal should be fine with the delhezi. The moss carpet seems like a cool idea. Check out the link for info on building a moss wall. You could do it the same way just on the floor of the tank instead of the back wall

Yea, I really kind of liked the look. I mean, you could still see gravel here and there, but it really made them look like snakes slithering through grass.

And thanks for the link! (I was wondering how I was going to get it all to stay and grow on the floor, heh)

S/he isn't solid black, but it's still pretty neat looking (IMO at least. 'course now someone over there mentioned they come in green... my favorite color and that's what I want to find now. *shakes fist* d*mn!)

And "her" everybody! :P

...I swear, no forum has ever seen a female crayfish/carnivorous fish keeper before. lol :nilly:
