Tankmates with a Fahaka puffer?

Going to get a Fahaka/Nile/Banded puffer pretty soon so I was wondering if a needlenose gar would be ok with the puffer. A lot of guides say that this puffer is best kept alone but I wanted your opinion. And if not are there any tankmates at all that can be kept with the puffer, like large loaches?

My Fahaka did fine with tankmates untill he got to 5" and then I started noticing round nips in their fins and then he killed one so he now lives alone and seems to like it.

Keep it alone. It will save you and the gar the distress of finding it dead/missing
