Hey all, I have a 14" silver aro, currently in a 90 gallon with a 12" motoro. The two of them are moving to a tank with an 8'x3' footprint soon, as the 90 is too small and is only intended for their keeping while theyre still relatively small. I am going to get some other rays as well in the larger tank, but I wanted to put in either a pair of cichla or petenia. Any comments on compatability between these two fish and the aro?

they should work together in that size tank. there are lots of vids on youtube that show aros and pbass together. the tanks end up looking really cool too.

Yeah they do...awesome combo for arowana.:headbang2

I agree with Connor...you'll be fine. My vote is for the Cichla...I like snooks, but you can't beat the Cichla/aro tanks.

This combination is fine. The only thing you need to worry next is the feeding and the filtration that's all.

Thanks guys, I have another question. I dont think this will be a problem, but I figured I might as well ask. After I move over the motoro and aro, and get some cichla (not sure how many, 3 maybe? 4? depends, i might go bigger with the tank, plus I dont know how big of a sump Im going to use until Im sure about the size either, so well leave that for later...) Im going to get a couple more rays, and my setup will be complete (like its that easy - I probably wont be able to afford this for a year, and even then picking everything out and building the sump is going to take forever). Will I be able to put in 4-5' pups in the tank with a (by then) almost full grown motoro, aro, and cichla, or will I have to buy larger rays? Will they be able to fend for their own if I drop them in a tank with the others who will be established in there by then?
