I know people who have them together with no problems and others that had problems,it really denends on agression levels of the fish involved.Sorry but its the best answer i can give you or anyone else about bichirs and tankmates-Anne
i'd like to know this as well...
ive never tried it,but i think its a possibility if you have the right poly species with rays.
for example,i think a ray would easily outgrow and then eat a senegal bichir.
ive heard stories about rays trying to eat things nearly the same size as their discs though....

im thinking about trying, my friend is giving me his ray free of charge, its big enuff to eat my albino senegal (6-7"?) and ornate (10-12"?), so i may keep an eye on it when the time comes.
