What is the largest tank that i could place into a double wide manufactured home? I would like to set up a 120 discus tank, but after realizing the house is off the ground, wondering if it would work. Also, what is the biggest you guys would recommend going?

Thanks!

Most manufactured homes allow for the possibility of waterbeds so just about anything under 200 gallons is safe. Once you start getting into the 240+ range however it's time to check with the manufacturer about speciffic load handling.

What you might want to check on, is that you should be able to get underneath this type pf house and add a 4x4 support beam under the tank, just to make sure.

I know when I helped my uncle set up his such home that we were given a type of map by the home builder of where to place the support beams and to pour the cement under the beams.

Make sure you can try to place the tank accross the supproting beams of the house.

If possible, reinforcing the area you want to place the tank will make it much safer and allow you to go bigger.

I have a 125, 94, 75, 46bow, 30 and 10 in my doublewide

The larger 3 I try to keep on the supported parts of the floor mainly in the center of the house. Steel beams and cinder blocks!
