OH
My current situation is a small house with 15 tanks scattered all about the house. Basically there are multiple tanks in every room of the house except the bathroom haha

I will be moving to a house with a basement. It is an older house so the basement is showing some age but I would like to place most of my tanks down there and just have a display tank or two in the main living space.

I keep mostly warm water fish....discus...angels...and several types of plecos. I am concerned about the temp in the basement since it is not heated and is not divided. It is basically one big space except for a 12x15' room which contains the furnace. (forced air gas)

I would like to put tanks in the furnace room to help contain a little heat. It is also where I have the best access to power.

Anyone ever done something like this? Any foreseeable problems having a bunch of tank in the same small room with a furnace. Either for the tanks or the furnace? I can maybe see big problems with evaporation causing tank problems or the humid air causing an early demise of the furnace?

are the two rooms connected? if so then leave the door open and over time it will heat the basement

This is exactly how my fish room is setup. I built it around the furnace. It works well. There is only one issue. If you let the humidity get too high in the fish room/furnace room, you'll smell the fish tanks in the rest of the house.

P.S. The wife wasn't happy about the smell. LOL

just get a dehumidifier if needed for teh smell.

I meant to say that. Mine is broken. I have to buy a new one before she kicks me out!

If the ductwork in the basement is accessible, it wouldn't be too hard to install a vent.
